Default Highest KV motor available for a 56 can motor

Can anyone tell me the make and model of the Highest KV motor available for a 56 can motor.
The highest KV that I can find in a 56 can motor so far is a SSS 56114 1000KV.
I am hoping to find something in this can size in the 1600kv range if possible.

    Thanks

    Hi Terry

How many cells did you use it in and how large of a hull?
Which TP motor is it and are you interested in selling it?

    Hi Terry

This is the boat that I am looking for the higher KV 56 can motor for.
I am currently running the sss 56 can motor at ~1300kv.
I want the higher KV to lower my required cell count but to keep the rpm up.
I need 10s currently on this boat to get it moving. I am hoping to get it down to 8s but yet keep the higher rpm to run the x457 prop

What size prop are you running? That motor should pull a fairly large prop on 6s, 1300 kv is enough for 6s, 10s is 48k rpm! A prop around 60mm on 6s should have you around 60 mph.

Currently using a x457 and on 6 s 2p and the boat is not running all that fast. (~40 mph) I think the SSS motor is really more like 800-1000KV not 1300 like I was told. On 8s with a x457 it runs in the 50 mph range. On 10s it is in the 60 mph range but the hull does not like the extra battery weight and is getting too front heavy.

Even at 10s with the x457 both the motor and esc come in nice and cool, no over heating issues.
Maybe a larger prop is the way to go but I find with this size hull once you get a bit to big with the prop dia the hull does not handle nor turn all that well.

    Larry Jaques has a Leopard 56mm motor I thin it's 82mm long and it's 1600kv. Send him a PM.

If you are running 6S2P you should be able to switch to 12S1P with equal run times if propped correctly and the right kv.
If you are racing or want to be legal under NAMBA or IMPBA you can easily find a 10S1P set-up that will work.

    Cool

The OP is running a prop which is far too small for that boat and setup - the low temps confirm that. A heavy gas hull like the one in the pic needs a larger thrust cone than a little 57mm prop delivers. I run props that size on 36? boats, his hull was designed for props between 65-75 mm.

If the motor Kv actually is 1300 then the rpm on 8S would be in the mid/upper 30,000s and the boat would be faster and run hotter, so without actually seeing it run I suspect its Kv is lower.

Before spending the $$$ on a new motor he should try an x465 or x470 prop, which work well on 8S with Kvs in the 800-900 range. A lot will depend on his speed and run time goals, along with the ESC he uses.

Isn't that just the Thomas sport 40? I wouldn't try to carry more than 6s in the 40. It will not fair well with the extra weight should it tumble even with the added carbon. I would try to find a killer 6s setup instead of trying to get 10s to work. 6s should take you over 70 in the straights with the right motor even if set up for oval racing. You could go faster if you didn't care about turning.

That 2400 I had made was for 4s. Unfortunately they put it in a can that is larger than needed. They just stuffed my wind in the can they had on hand. Ugh. So it's a gigantic motor. Very nearly useless. I may chop it down one day. It could work in a saw 6s rigger maybe. Big fat hog motors and zip zip boats aren't necessarily the way to go. I was after the extra poles at the time so I did the experiment. Power to weight ratio didn't work quite as well as I had hoped in the boat I had it slated for. Eventually I'll build something around the motor so to speak. It's an outrageous thing to look at.

That’s what I thought Terry it’s asport 40 Q hydro I would think something like a tp 4070 around 1400kv would be a good oval set up I think.

Somewhere in there. Many run the Neu 1527/1y. Super reliable for ovals. You can go higher kv but I don't think the boat comes out of the turn as well. Debatable for sure.

Default PT Sport 40 Sport Hydro Fe

Thanks for all your input guys. Yes this is a sport 40 not a gas hull and is one of three that I own. My other two Q sport Hydro's run the 40 can motors on 6s and are my racing boats.
This PT sport 40(Nitro hull) Fe conversion project is just a fun boat not a racer and I wanted to experiment going with a big 56 can motor. Terry is correct, this big motor combined with 8s to 10 s setup is just a bit too heavy for this hull to handle thus the reason why I wanted to find the best high kv option in a 56 can to drop the cell count down. I will experiment more with the 8s setup and larger props and will also likely also still try a higher KV 56 can option. I am running a swordfish 300a esc in this setup so lots of cell count, higher kv motors and larger dia props can all still be trialed and tested.

I love that hull in your profile pic can you tell me more about it? I am also working on a very similar hull to what you have there and would love your input on it.

I am also converting a 1/8 scale ML boat works nitro hull and a Stryker gas sport ML Pickle.jpg20191013_164127.jpg20191013_164148.jpg20191013_163909.jpg20191013_163950.jpghydro over to FE.

I should have mentioned. If you're like me and just can't leave well enough alone. Don't hesitate to contact TP motors and just tell them what you want. They'll build it for you. That's how I got the 2400. That's thing is obnoxious by the way. Even on the bench.
