Default Who still uses a RX external switch on their boats?

I still do but it seems few still do.

What do people use as a safety measure to prevent prop spinning on table?

It doesn't happen to me but, I was curious if there is a trend of no external switches...

I have seen in summer of 2019, boats powering up on work tables at boating events and it made me curious...

I put one on every Boat.
One more thing to help keep the retrival people safe.
Also when you have back to back races, you do not have to un-tape and disconnect one boat before you can connect the next boat and tape it up.
Just have both boats ready, Turn one off and the next one on.

Kind of, all my boats have safety loops that disrupt the battery to ESC connection and ensures that the motor can't run. As I use BECs in one form or another this also removes power to the RX.

I haven't had one in maybe 10 years.

I do prefer to use Rx switches in most of my boats to reduce the risk of an accidental trigger bump and a little more safety for a dead boat.
Where possible I still prefer to run external Rx batteries as I believe they are a little safer than relying on BEC circuits.
In boats that do not have an Rx battery, I will run the positive wire from the ESC through a switch and then connected to the receiver.

I also run pumps in most of my boats now powered off the receiver voltage. So the switch prevents the pumps running dry on the bench before a race.

Cool. Thanks for your responses. I too use separate RX pack and switch. I am using 6.6v liIon packs with no regulator.

On small boats <26", I do use the internal BEC sometimes for space reasons.

I used to have a safety loop on my DF33 and sorta wish I left it in but I may put in safety loops on a couple boats in the future. Loops are the safest method imo if you can do it. My DF33 had a big 8mm plug and 8G wire.
