Outboard questions

I am new this is my first post, After being out of rc boats for 20 years I decided to get back , I ran nitro tunnels , I pulled out an old boat and I decided to go electric after watching videos , can someone who runs outboard tunnels suggest motor . lower unit . esc, and batteries. My boat is 35 inches long 15 inches wide , it was a 7.5 to 11cc boat made by aerotech. It weighs 6 pounds bare hull and cowling . thanks

We have a group of guys on the gulf side of Florida who run a Q limited class using 45 size tunnels. On 6 cells we limit motor size to 40X75mm. This power draws 140 -150amps and a Flycolor 150 (OSE Raider 150) seems to hold up well. A Seaking 180 would be more than enough and allow larger motors. That said the Leopard 40X74 1400kv and a M445-M545 or ABC 1816 will bring speeds of 50-55 mph for 6 laps. A 5000ma battery or a pair of 3300ma 6S in parallel works well. Your Aerotech has plenty of room under the cowling to fit all the electronics. A single 200-300oz servo will be fine. Metal gear better.
Now as to power options I have a 4020 Scorpion outrunner 1250kv that is a good choice but pricey. If you go with 3watts or more 40X82-40X92 you can easily hit 60 but you will find yourself upside down quickly. Try the 40X74 ($80) and you can always buy more power once you get handling sorted out.

Thank you so much mic , now I have a good place to start. Also my boat still had two quarter scale futaba servos in it s134 I believe ,do you know if they would work with new style radios

I always liked those 134's. One should steer the boat giving you a spare. They work fine on my latest Futaba T-FHSS and FASST radios

Just be sure if using a modern radio to adjust the servo setting from digital to analog if using a Futaba radio. That will prevent the servo from burning out.
