    Default Gieco 36 breakaway ruder

I have a miss gieco 36 and i need to replace the breakaway screw/pin that holds the rudder on the rudder assembly. I purchased the nylon screw 285000 but that does not seem to work, or i am not using the screw properly. Can someone please let me know what to use and how to use it as i am new to this.

    Thanks for your help

If you know the tread size/pitch and length you can buy them from McMaster-Carr. Odd that your breaking them . There's know way to install them wrong that I know of.

Don?t over tighten the nylon screw.
It will cause a weak (stretched-out) spot, behind the nut. The aluminum the rudder is probably made of, will slice thru it like a hot knife thru butter.
Try snugging up the pinch bolt above the break-away bolt, to add some drag at the rudder pivot point.
