Default 3 ESC cables vs 6 motor connectors

    Hi there,

I bought Lehner 3060 motor and TMM 25035-3s ESC combo. The motor has 6 connectors but the ESC only has 3 wires... I was wondering if anyone could shed some light as to how the motor should be connected please?

Thank you very much for reading!

Does that esc have watercooling? Looks to small for that motor

It is up to you how to wire it. With 6 wires coming out of the motor you can choose to wire it up in D (triangle) format for high KV, or Y (star) format for a KV that is 1.732 x lower.

Here is the Lehner manual showing how to wire each format.

Thank you NativePaul for the input :)

Regardless of whether it's the D or Y format, there are 6 wires form the motor. Am I correct in say that I could join each pair (1,2 and 3,4...etc) together (as indicated in the attached picture) to make this work for a 3-wire ESC? Thank you very much.Lehner_Connector.jpg
