Default Flex shaft whip and liner length

Have an old Systems Cat that has the original stuffing tube and the Teflon liner that needs to be replaced. Is there any benefit to making the liner longer and by how much.
    Thanks

I trim my liners to the end of teh stuffing tube inside the hull, maybe a few mm longer. No need for it to be longer, just makes cleaning off the flex more difficult before it slips into the motor collet. The stuffing tube is what supports the flex, not the liner. I do like to run the liner a little longer into the strut at the business end, making sure it stops well short of the solid prop shaft.

A Systems cat stock has exposed flex after it exits the hull.

Thanks guys, would it benefit to make it longer even though it's just a short stuffing tube?
