I was going to goof around with a 26" ML Boatworks hydroplane I built a few winters ago this season and I wanted to try a 2S setup. I know, why 2S? Well because it's a small hull and it doesn't need to be over powered.
I was looking around at motors on Ebay and found numerous 4 pole motors in the range of 36mm x 50mm L up to 65mm L.
You can see where I'm going here, cheap, lol... They range in price from $25US up to $40 or so and I would hazzrd to guess most are all the same inside.
ONe 3500KV choice example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Surpass-KK-...r=692016908939
and then I saw a seller with cheap Castle clones a 1406 motor of 4600Kv.
The Castles are rated for up to 4S where the Surpass is not rated that high or lets say I don't really trust their specs, lol...
Would the Castle with better quality (provided it's up to Castle specs) be just as able as the Surpass?
Odd question but I know Don and other guys would be able to give me an Idea of what is best.
I'm just a tad bit nostalgic at the moment and miss those Fiegao days for some reason???
I could put a Dynamite 2000kv in there but the large prop it can turn might make it hard to manage.
It would be nice to see how fast a 2S setup can be with an inexpensive motor.
