    Default 2020 NAMBA Nationals Update

    Hi Everyone,
The NAMBA Nationals is still on schedule and HMBA is hard at work keeping everything on track!
Here is a list of up to date entries and boat counts. All of this info is also on the District 5 NAMBA Nationals website wwwhmba5nambanats.com.
We still have some classes that need to be sponsored and if you want an AD in the Program please let me know. You can choose your AD size on the website in the ENTRY/SHOPPING CART section. Just e mail me the artwork.

If you have a Banner you would like to hang at the Nationals just send it and we will make sure it gets put up!
If you have Raffel prizes you would like to send I will put your info on the website.

We look forward to seeing everyone in October Be Safe HMBA.

There was a hiccup with P cat. It was listed as a class but you couldn't sign up for it. They got er fixed up if anyone was wanting that.

I was hoping some of the Texas gang could make the trip. Those guys have scales. Sure would be cool to see a flock of them land in Huntsville.

In case some of the IMPBA members are thinking about entering NAMBA also allows a one time event fee and the schedule is set up where certain classes are run on each day. So you only want to enter a single class look up what it is scheduled and that's all you would have to be here for.
This makes this race very affordable so that you can Taylor your participation to your racing budget.

The trick is to share rooms and rides. One year we went to Arizona and put 4 idiots in one room. It was a riot. This year I'm making bubba the race sponge.......I mean my son...... pay his own way.

If you are an IMPBA member Please Remember to fill out a Single Event Form on either the Nationals website www.hmba5nambanats.com on the drop-down list or you can do it on the NAMBA website. It will go to Al Waters and then he will send a copy to me for the race event.

Kim, is that the latest? Obviously we'll do what ever the standard is for the event on race day but is the plan for masks full time even tough we're outside? Or just hot pits and drivers stand? Again, we'll all absolutely comply to make this happen. Just want to plan correctly.

    Racers
If by chance the City changes any rules or policies after October 1st you will be notified by email immediately.
We have held off posting COVID requirements in the hopes that state and local rules would get easier to work with.
At this point our city contact is sure we will still be under the existing rules come race time.
What that means is you must wear a face mask and maintain social distancing at all times, while in public, in Huntsville, Madison County, AL.
Restaurants and bars will be at less than 50% capacity with limited menus. There can be no congregating in groups of more than 10.
In your package you will receive a waiver that states you understand this and will comply or you must leave the race site.
To the racers that have asked “can we guarantee you won’t get sick”. No we can’t!
To the racers that have said you can’t wear a mask, we understand and it is NOT fun especially in the heat, we will miss you, and will refund your entry fees when you contact us.

Yikes. That's worse than Michigan. So if you go outside "in public" you have to wear a mask. Brutal. Michigan it's just when you have to go IN somewhere or if you can't distance in a small group. Restaurants are at 50% her too. You mask to yer table.

No issue with compliance. We'll watch for direction via email. If we want to play, we'll do what is necessary. We'll prolly piss n' moan about it but I'm sure that will be the case for everyone. I mean who wants to wear the mask really. Do what ya gotta.

    NAMBA NATS RACERS,

Unfortunately, the world is a much different place than it was when HMBA agreed to host the 2020 NAMBA Nationals.

We regret to inform everyone that a number of things out of our control have finally exceeded what we can control. After many sleepless nights and a meeting to look at and discuss all our options; the vote today was to cancel our 2020 NAMBA Nationals. We appreciate everyone that supported our effort and we certainly appreciate those who volunteered to help.

SPECIAL THANKS to Kim1 Grim for the AWESOME website she created and her tireless work. Please send her your thanks.
Your funds will be returned as soon as possible.

    Rick Grim
    President HMBA
