    Default Gas to electric conversion

Just wanted to share some pics of a recent conversion project.

My dad bought me this boat in the late 1970's and it has been sitting on various shelves for may years. It last ran in the early 1990s.

With some help from Mic H on the Intlwaters forum and parts from this site, the conversion was made! The boat is a Dumas DV 40-CF from the early 1970s and had a KB 6.5 exhaust throttle.

Per Mic's advice it now has a:

Motor: Leopard 4074 Motor | Offshore Electrics 1400kv
    ESC: OSE Raider 6s 150amp
    Prop: CNC Prop 42mm 3 BLD - 3/16" bore
    Batteries: 2pcs 22.2V 3300mAh 6S LiPo Battery 50C (eBay YOUME brand)
    Radio: STX3 3-Channel

Please don't flame me for the battery connection, still waiting for the proper connectors to come in the mail.

The boat is really fast and fun to run! I have borrowed a radar gun from my father in law and will post speed results and video when I can get another person to help me collect the data. Thanks again for the advice!

Is that a dv40, or a dv60? I have a dv60 cf (just got it back in almost running state, still need to mount a few things) gave it a fresh coat of blue metal flake over black this winter...

Pretty sure it is a DV 40CF. Not sure why I can't get the image to be larger in the post....

Here is a link to the full size ad. Mine is the shorter 40" version.
