Default CG for 44" 13 lb. Hydroplane

Just received 1/8 scale of Miss US (U2) that won the 1966 Gold Cup. Have converted to Leopard 4029 motors 930Kv with 8S battery power. Boat is 44" long, weighs 13 pounds total. My question is where to place the batteries to achieve the correct Center of Gravity, CG, for this boat. I have been told it should be about 65% back from the sponson tip. Is this correct? Your experience and knowledge would be most helpful, thanks.

Honestly, I have no clue. But, could you post some photos...I'd REALLY like to see this boat.

Seems to me it's a big boat for an 1/8 scale. Pictures would be nice
Usually on a hydro CG is around 1 or 2 inches behind sponsons

I don't know that specific boat and 65% back from the sponson tips may be correct for that boat if it has really long sponsons.

I prefer a more universal rule of thumb and set my full bodied hydros up at 10% back on the afterplane (distance between the rear of the front sponsons and the prop) which is a fairly safe starting point and move from there with testing, they usually end up between 10 and 15%.

I've just picked up this one to convert from nitro, 46" from sponson tip to the back of the shoes.
