    Default Scarab is finally DONE!

After almost 4 years the Scarab is finally done. Finished it up about 2 weeks ago. Completed the deck hatch covers, fuel and water caps, shore power socket and side cowing grills. The grills were extremely problematic to cast...the boat was fighting me until the end! They could have been better but I'm happy.
The 3 female figures were downloaded from Thingiverse and were "enhanced" to be more interesting. They were sized to fit the boat.
Like I said in the beginning, speed was not my objective...just a 100% scale
build...not like the Dumas sport scale of the 80s.
As soon as it warms up it's going in the pool for a pump test. The boat has two mini aquarium pumps that will suck in water and cool the esc"s and motors. The water will eject from by boat via the exhaust pipes.
If the boat moves well I'd like to install a sound module...we'll see.

The cost over 4 years...with the 3d scans, 3d printing and molds alone I'd say about 800.00 bucks...another 1000.00 on the finished hull. You guys know what motors, esc's and batteries cost...modified outdrives etc...who knows the final cost.
If my wife ever read this I'm a dead man...lol!

Who's good at math...the boat is 60" long and the real Scarab is 38'...whats my boats scale?

So whats next...maybe a matching Endeavor 43...Sonny' sailboat...

    Cheers all!

Your work on the boat is beautiful, just over the top outstanding. Get rid of the female figures they distract from your work and are ugly to boot.

Wow. This looks absolutely fantastic. Nice job! I also like the esc placement. Now she needs a scale trailer!

Guys, this thread is over two and a half years old, and the OP hasn’t been back to the forum in six months. He won’t see your posts.
