    Default Graupner Polaron

Anybody care to comment on the Graupner Polaron line of chargers?

    Specifically the Ex1400, and s2002

    https://www.graupnerusa.com/Polaron-...-TFT-Blue.html

I just picked up both for a good deal... ($350 for both - posted the s2002 is almost new) and wondering if theirs a reason they are so cheap... the ex1400 comes with a maxamps power supply too.

Did i get lucky or just buy some

I would say you got lucky. That is a sweet deal on some high power chargers. Have fun!

Good to know, just need to collect some more batteries for use with such high powered chargers!

I have one (the AC/DC one) and love it, my only suggestion would be to update the firmware before you use them.

Will do, yeah i have both, the AC/DC and the EX1400 which is a powerhouse 60 amp output... it came with a maxamps 65amp power supply,

Wont be using anywhere near there capabilities,

So far in the last few days ive picked up 2 SLS 7s xtron 5000mah and 4 SLS 7s Magnum Apl v2 5000mah packs, charging is 4c max but will be going easier on them..

    Following on from this...

I have 3 sets of batts at the moment to charge, 6s, 7s and 8s...

The 8s are made up of 2 4s batts in series, now i have a 8s capable charger so is it best to charge these packs individually (4s) or charging them in series as one 8s pack?

Or does it really not matter?

    Thanks

Doesn't really matter. Depending on internal resistance you may be a couple hundredths of a volt off from each other at full charge but as long as your cutoff is set correctly it accounts for that separation in use. Depending on capable charge rate you will likely be able to charge packs faster as 4s than a complete 8s battery.
