    Default ESC options

    Have 2 options - Maybe more ?

I need to power 2x boats

one is a large scale twin with 1521 1y and 3s 40mm plastic impeller

    Other is 35" mono with either 1521 1y or TP 4070 / 4060 on 6/7s

    Option a. - shared ESC
2x Swordfish x+ 200 2-8s and switch the 1521 and esc between the boats (the twin mono will only be out on rare occasion)

    Option b. - dedicated ESC's
    2x OSE raider 150 and 1x Swordfish x+ 300,

Price diff is ~$80 so not a huge difference...

Guess it boils down to if the 200 amp esc will be enough for a 35" mono in a 'fast sport' setup...?

Anybody care to chime in or have a different opinion on the matter? I had thought about going with 'A' as i dont really want to drill the twin hull and think it won't heat up too much even on longer runs... thinking 3s4p total 20000mah and super long run times - will start with 3s2p and if i need longer runs go with the 4p. But then again maybe the OSE raider esc's will be able to hold up...

Don't share ESC's. Each boat will more than likely have slight tuning differences. You will also be forced to swap parts which may even prevent you from even wanting to go out. (I know, that's a stretch, but it happens.) The only things you should be sharing are batteries, as long as they don't have dedicated sleds.

I guess option b / c are what im going with, i've ordered a custom wind 4070 (1850KV) which im going to run on 6s2p in which ever 900-1000mm mono i acquire..

ZTW is a little bigger and heavier and doesn't have data logging (not a deal breaker)

Is the ZTW the better esc or the swordfish X+....

I will be eventually going for 75-80mph on the 4070 Maybe more.... (going to start with a small prop and work my way up)
