    Default 33" carbon fiber mono

Ok got me a new boat and looking for recommendations on battery configuration. I have a lehner 1950/5. 2505kv and have some revo 4s 5000 mah batteries. I'm thinking 11 inches from transom cog. Can I finish a race with 5000 mah. Or will need 2 packs? Any and all comments are appreciated, thanks

The actual CG will depend on the hull and the speed, but 11” is 33%, a good place to start. But a 2500 Kv motor is a lot for a 4S oval boat, you’ll either need a small prop or lots a mAh packs - 2P in your case.

It's a dy motorshop hull, I do have a neu 1515 2200 kv would that work better? Would a neu work with a MGM Controller? Thanks JT for the info

The DY hull is pretty easy to push, the 1515 will likely work if you keep things light. I prefer a slightly larger motor and a bit lower Kv.

It has been over a decade since I tried a Neu/MGM combination, I just don’t know how well they play together today - I suspect okay especially with a Y wind motor.

40x82, Kv around 1900. A Neu 1521/1.5D is the standard, but for less than 1/2 the price the TP 4050/6D would be a good choice too.

The LMT 1950/5 is actually a pretty good heat racing motor when propped small. I run one in a sport hydro with a X440/3 and it's too fast without a lot of pedaling. I run 4S2P with 5000 size packs just to keep it on the water. Current is very reasonable at 180A peak.

Try running a 38-40mm X series Octura and you may like the results!

Otherwise I would normally agree a 1521 1.5D or are 4060 are the most tried and true options.
