    Default OSE Raider M34 ?

HI all i have a Swordfish 220 amp esc a Leopard 4074 1650 kv motor and a 6s lipo sitting on the shelf collecting dust im considering the Raider M34. Has anyone set up this hull and ran it on 6s ? any set up pictures ? the web site just has pictures of different color hulls no interior or hull rigging pictures or articles . Regards Andris Golts.

Hello Andris ! I'm a bit surprised no one has chimed in as of now so I'll take a swing at shedding some light on your question. While I've not built a OSE Raider M34 ( I really like it from photos and would strongly consider it for a worthy P-Mono raceboat) here's a basic layout I use for Cyberstorms [32.75"] that I build for customers. Note the up-sized (slightly trimmed down) rear rudder & the el-longo XXL turn fins that keep the hull planted in racewater turns - not really necessary for sport running + I like the Speedmaster stinger which I shorten about .5 inch. You could get away with less sturdy hardware for a sport runner but I build boats to survive racing abuse . Also set up like this you could series-rig two 3S batteries for 6S & get some decent runtime with the right prop.

OTOH if you want to go maximum strength here's an Insane 34 I set up for P-Mono ovals that's built to survive nuclear annihilation :

May I spam out and ask exactly how high to drill the 1/4" hole for the stinger on my Cyberstorm transom?

    Setting up for P mono.

    Sorry Andris...

The Raider is a hell of a boat! Wish I had one! That should be fun.

Hi Ray - I was going to answer your Q on IW BUT - I usually mark the center of the hole at 3/8" to 7/16". Maybe some say a tad low BUT with the Speedmaster stinger I can play with the strut angle to keep the prop happy, the ride attitude correct for racewater, and ride out the chine walk when it happens .

Edit : when you think about it, the real measurement (and what it affects) is the prop depth. I've found that the Cyberstorms are quite competitive in P-Mono with a 1515 1Y- type 2200 KV motor and a prop no bigger than 45mm like a M545. A higher shaft with a 47mm+ prop starts some torque roll issues which can settle into chine walk.

Of course I'm open to other input.

    Hmmm....

Thank you for the quick response.

I was sorta planning on the 2000Kv 4082, I could grab a 4074 2200kv in a pinch. You like ABC props or still Octura?

I did buy some ABC in 47mm range recently... meh...

ABC are available at OSE until they are not... again lol...

    Thanks

Ray, as I see it, one of the only advantages that a 4082 has over a 4074 is its ability (torque and horsepower -wise) to spin larger props - 47, 48, 50 , even 52/2 mm. I've run 1521 1.5D in Cyberstorms (to keep up with the trends) and didn't end up with a more surviveable raceboat. Torque roll took its toll. I'm a little late to the ABC 17degree-rake prop party 'tho Brian handed me a few at the Straightlines (with his famous wink and smile) and I set records with them

If I went to a 2200kv motor, what ABC props would you suggest?

I do have a 2200kv Scorpion 36mm x 85mm 1Y motor I could try in the mono and run the 2000 4082 in my ML 310. It just seems backwards but I would rather not deal with torque roll.

    I think I have a 1521 1.5D I might have gotten from you.

Like I said, I'm kind of new to the ABC "game changers". Maybe ask Jay, or Greg Schweers, or Ken Haines or even Chris at DasBoata.

    Duh ! Check with Brian
