    Default ESC Recommendations, help needed

    Hi,

I need two HV esc' s for outrunner motors. Stator poles = 12 and Motor poles = 8.

8S batteries and 1250kV motors, so 37000 RPM Max.

The HW specs don’t say the maximum switching rate and an 8-pole motor at 37,000 rpm requires a high rate. But the problem I see is the motor Kv choice - that is excessive rpm for a large outrunner. The case will be under too much stress; I don’t know any motor maker who condones such a high rpm.

BTW, why do we never see any of Alfa’s builds running? The build pics usually look great. Enquiring minds want to know...

    Cool

    I am running a Scorpion 4035/800 Kv on 10 S very reliable....
I?m very happy for you, but that is only 23,000 rpm. The OP wants to turn 37,000 rpm, 60% more rpm than your motor. Apples and oranges.

    No, 30 000 RPM (37 x 800) and the Scorpion 4035 is 10 poles. I will send an e-mail to Hobby Wing.

Ooops. Yes, so you’re only running 25% higher rpm than he is - still way too high. But you know what you know...
