More progress. Motor mount in. I used the laser cut template that I provide in the kits, punched the hole centers, and drilled. I'm always amazed when the bolt holes line up. The true position of the holes have to be darn near dead nuts to fit (4mm bolts and the laser cut holes are kerf adjusted to be exactly 4mm).

Decking is done. Working on nose. You really get a good idea of how aggressive the leading edge is on the last photo.

A little more work done. Finished the front and rear deck and lip to hold the hatch. Fits like a glove! (what you didn't see or hear was the cursing and aggravation).

I've been talking with Snare regarding a one pc hatch and getting rid of the extra nose cone. I'd really like to keep the turbine/nose type profile. It's difficult in that the nose cannot go beyond the leading edge. I wonder if something like the 1 liter boats would work... I've always liked the looks of them.

I do like that, Larry. Maybe I'll work on two versions. One like yours and Terry's, and another like the 1liter Y class for people like me and Snare.

Pete, a nose of sorts that's attached to the front of the tube. Maybe a laser cut piece of bass wood. Contour file and sand that to blend with a canopy with the canopy tape line on top. Sorta like the tape line on a Thomas.

I applied a coat of sealer. Believe it or not, I've found the best way is to saturate an old T-shirt and rub it directly into the wood (wearing gloves of course). Brushes apply too much, foam brushes break apart.

Started feathering in the seams with West Systems and micro-balloons.

Batts are a pretty snug fit, but that's the price you pay for having those huge air bleeds in the bottom (narrow tub width). End result should be a lighter boat in race trim since there will be less air pressure underneath.

Next step is to start mounting hardware.
