What is the desired use? For oval racing the Kv is a little bit high but not excessive, for zip-zip runs it’s good. The 82 mm motor is probably bigger than needed but still okay. Are they two 3S packs, or two 6S packs?

i wouldn,t be running the 2000 kv motor on 6s if your wanting a fast fun oval boat. that size is more suited for 4s battery power.
a good motor size for 6s is around the 4070 x 1250 kv,s, you will have less rpms but you can swing a larger prop size and get more run time and also be just as fast.
A 4082 motor 2000Kv on 4s with an M445 prop will give you a very fast boat. I built a fiberglass Pursuit with a Leopard 4074 2150Kv motor, Seaking 180 esc running an Octura M445 with 4s2p batteries and it's wicked fast and handles great for oval racing.
There is no way you you will even get close to a 10 minute run with a 5000Mah battery. I finally went with 2x7500Mah 2 cells in series and get a little over 4 minutes run without depleting the batteries. Running an FE boat at full bore for 10 minutes would surely blow it up anyway. I've never felt the need to try a 6s setup with my Pursuit because it handles so well on 4s power.

You're most welcome. It's great to be able to glean info from fellow members on this this forum as to what setups have worked well for them and be able to pass that info on to others. The Pursuit is a great boat and I hope you enjoy yours as much as I've enjoyed mine.
I agree 100 % with Capt'n Crash ; The 4082 is essentially a 4074 with a longer rotor allowing larger diameter props for larger hulls - props which would make the 32" Pursuit handle like a careening pinball. That hull will be way more driveable and plenty fast with a 4074 motor - around 2000 or 2200 on 4S. Install the 4082, run it on 6S and be automatically eligible for the ZSP/WTS Club.
Mike's Pursuit with a 4074-sized motor on 4S2P rigged for P-Mono [mill + 6 + 1 penalty lap] - old vid but still relevant :

Received mine today. Motor of choice (for P-Limited class) was SSS 3656 6-Pole 2030kV. Unfortunately, the factory goofed, and installed a 3660 4-Pole 2070kV. Thankfully, the factory knows they were the ones who goofed up, the correct motor should be shipping to me before the end of the week...and, I've been told to keep the 3660.

So I have a carbon fiber pursuit unfortunately before I started getting into the hobby properly I bought a 4082 off oxidine Marine. It's 2200 KV allegedly. I also bought a 4074 from OSE. I want to upgrade my motor which one should I put in there?
My vote would be for the 4074 on 4s if it's in the 2200 KV range. See my post above for comments and setup.
Not sure how the CF version motor mount is configured but the fiberglass version had a mount for a 36mm motor can so I had to order new 40mm mounts for the 4074.
So I got a 4074 2200 KV motor inbound with a carbon fiber the size 40 mm mount from OSE lol thanks a lot Captain
That should work very well. Enjoy your Pursuit, it's one of my favorite boats.
