Default What rigger for P hydro?

    Hi all
Just wanted some input as to what would be the best rigger for P hydro? Let me know your thoughts and experience. Initially it will be mostly for two laps and speed runs, but oval racing also. Motor/ prop choices too.

i like the zippkits jae-33 rigger set up for 4s oval racing. 40mm motor with a kv between 2000 and 2400 / 180 esc and a cupped abc h7 prop .

    After running the JAE and Keps I prefer my Keps. JMO I have tested 4S with from a 3660 limited, 1415 1Y, 1515 1Y to a 36X84 TP 2060kv. props from 1716 1717 1817/2 ,1815/3 and 1816/3. The 1450 and H-7 H-10 were not as fast as the newer ABC's

Ok so from what I see these are the options out there.
    JAE 33 - kit
Keps - scratch build from plan
    RSX 310 - kit
    Pro Boat Sworder

I'm leaning towards the JAE on cost and performance. I don't really want to do a scratch build or I would do the Keps.
Any more thoughts, options or opinions?

    Peter.
If your race water is mostly rough & windy, the ML Boatworks kit is an excellent performer. Mine flies straight and level across the waves. She wins her fair share of races.

I do like the look of the RSx310, I'm kinda leaning that way now.

    Thanks Tony,
That vid is of my gen 1.5 raptor. I haven't been producing them for a few years.

If I was building a boat other than my own, I'd build a KEPs.

I scratch built a Keps rigger from the plans and I must admit that on calm(ish) water, it is a little rocket. Smaller and lighter than the ML GSX310, so a bit flighty in windy conditions.
Roland (rol243) & I, have had some good duels along with other club members that run the JAE boats.

    The keps.

Well I have decided to go with the JAE 33 this time round. Budget constraints and time to build were the main considerations, plus I have a motor and esc that will do for now. I still like the RSX310 and will look again at one of those if we can get a bit of interest going in our club for P hydros. I can always on sell the JAE later.

I have a TP 3640 2250 kv sitting there and will put a OSE Raider 150 in with it for now. Will upgrade to 40mm motor and T 180 later.

the jae 33 is a larger rigger than the previous jae 21/fe which worked very well with 36 mm motors , i run a 40 mm 2250 Het motor in my 33 as i did try a 3650 and it wasn,t as fast. maybe the 3640 might be aliittle under size for this rigger . a club member runs a 1415 -2600 kv in his 33 and it does appear there is very little difference in top end speeds with same props and his 1415 and my motor. i also tested the 36 mm het 2250 kv motor and it was not as good as the 40mm size.

Hey guys yes I can make kits for the keps boats in all sizes and forms that Nicholas has graciously given me promotion to do so and try to have them as affordable as possible to contribute to his awesomeness.

If anyone is interested shoot me a PM and we can discuss things.
I will see if I can maybe add it to custom sale section with some photos.

Brad Nichols in Canada has been building a bunch of them for people completed and does an awesome job if anyone is interested in that I can get it setup as well.
