Default Central RC Marine 70" Fountain

Not an electric build, but still cool and worth sharing. My friend built this boat over the winter and we were finally able to get some tuning runs in over the 4th of July holiday while I was down there on vacation. The boat wasn't built to be fast, just good looking and able to run reliably in the choppy water near his lake condo. The hull is a 70" Fountain built by Rick at Central RC Marine in Peoria, IL. Its a fiberglass layup with a carbon fiber inlay over the bottom half of the hull. The boat was sent to Bonzi in Indy for a basic white paint job, followed with a satin clear coat which turned out awesome. The graphics are scale replicas of the Fountain factory Kilo record boat. The motor is a Gizmo 30.5 full mod, currently running a a Dasboata 7414 stainless 3 blade prop, and Speedmaster hardware. The first run clocked 38mph on the GPS. We raised the trim tabs and dialed in a little less negative trim on the stinger and ran 41mph on the next run. Shortened the pipe about 3/8" and picked up a few more RPM on the next tank of fuel. Had a best run of 44mph. The boat looks so real when it's running, complete with a long rooster tail. I have no desire to own such a large hull myself. It's a bear to carry by yourself, transporting it is a challenge, and storing it requires an understanding wife.
