    Default Prop size?

New to boats, have a cheaper China abs boat I've been upgrading and completely redid everything from original setup. It's a 800mm with a 150 amp flycolor esc, turningy1650kv 70amp 2600 watt, 3674 motor running a 3/16 flex driven drive setup on 6s. What's a good prop size to start with?

A 45 mm wouldn't be too much or could I go bigger

You should start smaller, 40-42 mm and test and check and work your way up in prop size.

Cat or mono? Racing or sport running? Exactly what batteries? What is the length of the pond?

An x440 would probably be quite safe as long as the boat is properly trimmed and not run for more than 2 minutes (use a timer). But we really need more info.

I have multiple lakes of good size and a very wide, straight canal long enough to run out of signal

I had just got it all done with an sss 3674 1300kv motor running a 40mm prop. Maiden run was gonna tape hatch after a quick cooling check and make sure no water was getting in through the drive. She ran perfect, ballanced but a little slow but safe at full speed n then bam she is stopped at an instant n sunk. Nose up but all submerged, lost hatch. There was a 5 gallon bucket under the water and I found it. Motor is smoking after I dried it out and tested it .everything else is good luckily because everything was brand new (esc, motor and power hd 20 kg digital servo) including complete everhaul of drive system upgrades

I'll try the 40 I got n then go up from there. Never got to get results from the sss motor since it lasted all of 30 seconds. Most of that was trimming and making sure she was pissing

A 3 blades propeller is better for a heavy boat but the motor must be strong enough and a 3 blades prop is less sensitive to balance.

A 2 blades prop generaly give more speed. The best is making tests.

PS : Tenshock make good and strong CNC propellers ,

Ran the new setup, first 40mm ose prop.
Ran it slow made sure everything was working and first fast run broke prop. Ran home put on the 42mm graupner ran great had some chine walk. Next day same prop adjusted strut to neutral it was down a bit and ran great temps where Luke warm after a 5 minutes of playing.
Today tested the cnc 45mm ran great temps where 101 on motor esc 102 and batteries at 107. Loving it running great no chine walk unless I start hitting my wakes need to get a gps and see what kinda speeds she's getting
