Default New Spektrum SR215 receivers suitable for boat use???

I was just wondering if the new SR215 receivers can safely be used in boats. According to Horizon, they are NOT water resistant. If not, it seems like a step back from the previous SR210 which was water resistant.

Pretty soon I'm going to need a receiver for the new Pro Boat Aerotrooper air boat I just picked up so I can pair it to my DX5C.

I never trusted the coating that came on the Spektrum receivers from the factory. I either used liquid tape from a spray can for a quick job on the circuit board, or epoxy if I had more time.

A party balloon with some silicone and a small zip tie where the wires exit works for me or I have built small waterproof receiver boxes out of 1/16" plywood with clear windscreen material taped to the top so I can see what's going on.
Again use a dab of silicone where the wires exit.
