All depends on whether you intend to run 4s or 6s packs.

One of our club members (crapshooter) did a very concise build for 4s over on R/C Groups. Lots of information there.

Do a search on this site too. There are a few build logs here on OSE.

Thank you. I am interested in a 6s setup.

How will you use your outrigger? Will you race it on an oval course? Are you interested in maximum speed? How important is run time? What FE boat experience do you have? What are your expectations for the rigger? What size pond will you be running on? Please answer, we need this information to help you.

I don’t have any FE experience. This is the first one. I am interested in run time and speed. My only expectation is to have fun. I do not plan to race oval. The pond is good size, close to a couple hundred feet long.

    Cool

Speed and runtime are mutually exclusive - the faster you go the shorter the time you can run. But on 6S you can have both to a degree. I would recommend the following:

Motor: https://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pr...rod=tp-3650-v1. The 1550 Kv version.

ESC: https://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pr...Raider+Esc%27s. Not certain this will fit in the tub.

Pack: 6S/4500 mAh with at least 50C rating.

I would start with an x445 prop, it will handle more but see how the run time and speed are for your small pond. Ponds get really small at 60 mph, that’s 90 feet per second.

do you have the boat already? I would suggest a smaller boat for a pond that is under 200' long. Cheaper to buy, cheaper to power, still plenty of speed make the lake seem scarily small if you want it, and you likely wont need the better seakeeping of the bigger boat on a little pond.
