With a 36 hull you can run 6S with 1500kv motor 4082 size

Need to know your goals with this boat.
Speed and handling requirements (SAW vs oval racing or sport)
Are you on a tight budget or prepared to get quality components.

With a 6s 40X82 outboard you have more power than the Prather is capable of handling other than a straight line. It wasn't a great nitro hull with less power. Not what you want to hear but make it a sport boat and have fun with it. Stay low on KV and props and enjoy the longer run times.

For a Lap Cat II prefer 4S with 2000kV motor (outboard).

With the specs I gave for my Lap cat II I. E. proboat 1500kv, GOLDBAT 1500mAh 100C 14.8V 4S LiPo Battery Pack ,Flycolor Waterproof 150A Brushless ESC & 5.5V/5A BEC for RC Boat V2P0. Will this set up work or do I need to make modifications to my components?

Red Cat, you should start a new thread, your posts are too confusing here. The short answer to your question - NO. The battery is inadequate in capacity, expect around one minute of run time. You will want at least 4000 mAh capacity, more gives longer run time. The ESC is fine, the motor a bit small in size but will work. Lots of drag in that hull.

    Lenght is 32'' (?), 4S is fine.

Battery capacity used are 4000 or 5000mAh.

I agree that 6S is the better way to go. It does require NOT going crazy with wattage. I have a 36" tunnel with a cheap Flycolor 150 and a Turnigy 36X74 1600kv that are $100 combined. Runs low 50's all day long with an m445 prop. On 4S with a 2200kv 36X74 to get that performance the controller would run hot due to 33% more amps required to do the same work. Same motor and esc on 6S in a hydro goes into the 60's. Not super performance but reliable power and respectable speeds. Just going to more volts does not mean you have to go mega on the motor.
