    Default Stuffing Tube

I'm building my 1st 1/10 scale FE boat, only have run 1/8 Nitro in past. When building nitro scale we would always use a small length of brass tubing 1 size larger than stuffing tube exiting the hull so if you had to replace stuffing tube it was easy. Is this common with electric or is it a possible point of entry for unwanted water and uncommon? Thanks for any and all help.

I've done that on two of my recent builds. I didn't have a water issue on either, but one of the longer tubes was moving a little too much so a light wipe of clear silicone caulk before it went back through the sleeve stopped that. It can still be easily removed.
