    Default Tariff 301 Information

    just received this,

    Tarrif 301 Information

On July 7, 2018 the Office of United States Trade Representatives began imposing additional tariff charges, ranging from 10-25%, on a comprehensive list of products being imported from China. Certain products have been affected by this since that date, and we have been absorbing the impact of these increased tariffs in an effort to mitigate impact our valued customers.

On October 1, 2018 select products including transmitters, servos, motors, receivers, and other items will have their prices adjusted. With our continued commitment to our customers, we will be taking minimal pricing action on affected items and will absorb tariff costs when possible. Price changes will vary by product to ensure only the necessary price adjustment with respect to the varying tariff impact on each item. We are notifying you prior to these changes and providing a storefront of products that will increase in price due to the tariff.

Tower Hobbies is committed to providing consistent products, service, and support. To achieve this, it is necessary that we comply with regulatory action such as this and adjust only as necessary to ensure minimal disruption and impact to our customers. We appreciate your understanding and continued support as we navigate these unanticipated and ever-evolving trade negotiations.

Maybe all this WILL bring back some American made quality such as was in the 70’s and early 80’s.
Great outfits back then. Repairs were possible, improvements were done.

Quality? Did you ever own an American car from the 70's or 80's....Whoo those were bad. Other products yes better but competition makes better quality and innovation not government subsidies or protection. Is any one willing to pay more for a quality ESC? I am, but I get laughed at with my MGM and Schulze Controllers. So we buy Chinese ESC because they are cheaper. I'm all for the USA and buying products made here....but we have to do it at the same prices as everyone else. Tough to do.... ( I have no answers BTW.) I hope these tariffs work and not just cause inflation. We are paying for the tariffs in all our products.

So buy up stuff now and make a few bucks in the future.

In Canada and other countries, we get taxed, duties and handling charges.

In a way, you've had it easy for a long time.

Yeah... but you get FREE healthcare.

I pay $9,600 per year in health insurance for a family of 3 and still have co-pays and deductibles if one of us actually needs anything.
Gas prices have been going up... Food costs have been going up... Now 10 to 15% price increases not just on RC products from China but almost all goods from China. And then factor in price increases on anything made from steel or aluminum.... Middle class in the USA is getting squeezed all so rich people can make more money.
    Have fun with that....

WE still have you beat. We are taxed far higher than you guys. If you add up all the taxes we do pay, we are paying at least 65% back to the government so not so free health care and it is eroding as of late. Last week I was told I had a broken femur that's been healing for a few weeks and sends me to my family doctor to get a specialist to check xray on what to do next. I go to DR. yesterday and he has report, in my hands now that says no broken femur however my past broken ankle (2015) is looked at and may be what he says is a weeks old injury. Now I have to call or go back to hospital to get clarification of what the heck the doctor said to me and GF. Total run around.

Our gas is almost twice the price as yours just a small drive across the border.

I hear you brother, we got the squeeze going too. Food prices are crazy here too...

All because central banks want to play chess with the world and can push it in any direction they like. These are some crazy people, evil.

Yeah, but we're probably not far off after we pay our income taxes to federal and state government, property taxes, sales taxes, auto registration, surcharge taxes on utilities, and part of the reason our gas costs what it does are gas taxes.

And what I payout in health insurance costs is almost 10% of our household income plus like I said... we'd still have to cover co-pays and deductibles. It was estimated that if we had government health insurance our taxes would go up approximately 6%... Well that'd safe me money and probable save a lot of employers which supply healthcare as well. People hear tax increase to pay for it and it blows their mind. They don't factor in that they'd no longer have a health insurance bill to pay and/or neither would their employer which means wages would go up to cover the extra taxes.

And as far as your issues with doctors and hospitals... don't think for a minute its any better here. An issue like you described could very easily happen to anyone here in the states. I could go on and on with stories that'd blow your mind... just from my own family members and friends.

    It's all ridiculous...
    Have fun with that....

    i pray you'll heal well.
several years ago one of my uncles is on the way out of the hospital exit a Doctor (not his) walks up and shows him that he should adjust the height of his adjustable cane for a different stance and bills him for $200.00. My aunt went back with him to have the bill nullified he was quite upset and yes there are too many horror stories on this particular world, thus our hobbies and The Good Book.
for what others have mentioned here we are all spokes in a wheel. As of 2018 7,632,819,325, pushing 8 Billion people, yes there's problems but it's knowing what You can control. Nobody will rise against this tide too many Americans are too comfortable, voting just encourages them (some politicians) talking heads and another polite way of receiving your money for little or no effort. i think most start off with well and eager intentions but it all gets scrambled in bureaucracy, thus time spent and no worries to get anything constructively done quickly and for the good of Her people.
    Well back to Building.
ps I still Love Her, just she's high dollar and high maintenance.
Like to note i know a lot of Great People, even on here i have conversed with some fine fellows i would call friends, and never set my eyes or heard their voice, but yet they are as the best as though i've known them for years.
i only posted the above Tarrif 301 Info just in case some peeps didn't know about.

Now for the Ebay and State E Commerce tax implication that came in my email last night.
