Default Help Me Choose a motor and prop

Hello, i have a Proboat BlackJack 24.(catamaran Im ready to do some upgrades. not sure on what motor size and prop would be best. I want to get into the 40MPH club. (or higher)

    I bought a OSE Raider 150amp ESC and a 4S 75C 6500mAh

Im looking at getting a leopard 3660 series or an X2 leopard 3660 but not sure what Kv to get?

    Leopard 3660
    2050Kv 2.5Y
    2550Kv 2Y

    Leopard X2 3660
    2380kv 4D
    3180kv 3D

not stuck on getting a leopard motor, if you can help in selecting the right KV and prop size. im still new in the hobby. thanks for all your help.

I would go for the 2050kv 3660 and an octura x440.

The T.P. motors are a better motor than the Leopards.

That is a lot of weight for a 24" boat, I'd have gone for a 2860 motor of around 3400KV, on 3s 5000mAh, with a 1.4 pitch 36mm prop, and 120A ESC. it would still get you over 40mph, along with 5 minute runtimes, and likely much better handling.

In my experience, the leopards are faster than the tp.

I cannot understand it, the tp have stronger magnets, looks to be a far better built motor than the leopard.

And the leopard runs cooler, and holds the rpm better underload than the tp.

The only issue I see with the leopard is they will kill bearing fast at real high rpm. Over 35000 plus rpm.

    2050kv and a octura x438 or x440.
The weight does help to keep the boat on the water at higher speeds.

Balancing the boat right is also very important. I would suggest a 43 percent cg.
That is measure 10.25 inches from the rear and let that be the balance point.

You should have neutral trim to start.

Thank you speed3! 2050kv it is. i'll get both props and play around with them. Ive never thought of balancing the boat. Im doing some reading on how to do that. Thank you for your help.
