The Tppower 4070 is a 92mm motor so the equivalent Leopard is the 4092 .I have tried both on my twin rigger and had better performance with the Tp's. I also built a Jae GT 45 nitro and for this size boat you have to stick to the Tp4070.Gill

You re welcome and all depends on how many cells and kv's are you inttending to use.My set up is Tppower's 4070 2080kv with a pair of Sf 300 lite on 6S....one correction the TP 4070 is 100mm not 92mm.Accordingly to my datalogging turning Octura's V947 (3,5 cup) amps are under control for few fast passes and to help I installed a micro waterpumo to cool down motor's/esc's.Hope this help you.

I was thinking of a Tp 1700kv on 6S single battery pack 5400 mah and I was checking out the ZTX 200 amp esc. What do you think of that combo Sir.

1700kv is about maximum safe kv,s for 6s oval running or things will get hot, around 1500 is better plus you can go lower in your esc amps . guys in my club are using 150 and 180 amp esc,s in there sport hydros on 6s and especially in a rigger where these hulls run very light you can go lower in amps.

This rigger is pretty big to be running 6s battery . I was surprised how big this boat is its about the size of my gas rigger but with skinny sponsons. My s6 battery looks tiny beside it my battery is SMC 6S 5400 MAH 90C rating.

Thanks Rol for your support and I would stick to the Tppower 1520kv with a SF 240 to run on 6S 2p.Last year I built a SGX converted to FE with this combo and the guy has won some races with zero issues.I have no experience with the ZTX esc's but considering this motor has a max amp 230 I think a 240 amp esc will be on the safe side.Gill

Hi Gill just wondering about the motor and esc combo for my single motor JAE 45 FE. I Was thing of using a CC 1717 or A Tp 4070 motor with ZWT 200 amp esc. On 6S. What do you think of that Combo . For that price range is there any better options for me. Thank you for your much needed help to this point. I have not bought motor/Esc anything yet. Thank you Sir.

Hi John in the same price range you can have the Sf 240A with datalogging or even the ZWT 300A to be on the safe side.Obviusly there are different opinions on this subject so let others chime in.Gill

If you going for the 4070-1700 kv motor on 6s you don,t want a very large prop as opposed to having a motor with lower kv,s such as 1200 to 1500 kv size. The JAE riggers do like ABC props so how about you try a H7 or H6 for starters and see how things go. As Gill mentioned the 1520 kv motor would be a better choice for 6s oval running.

I am thinking about building one of these Jae 45 kits, I was told he doesn't list the 45 FE version on his site but they are available. Would like to get some more info on the hull, tub length and width. Do you have any pics of yours?

Sorry no pics at this point of mine. You can build the kit from his 45 nitro Verizon plans. There are lots of guys on here that will help you with your electric esc and motor set up. I am still new to the electric outriggers. But not new to nitro and gas outriggers. Sorry I cat help you any more to this point. Joe at Zipkits will star you in the right direction.

Not sure if there is an FE version of the ZippKits JAE-45. If there is i would say the only difference between the two would be tub heights.

Tub/Sponsons/all done boat is sealed ready 4 primer and paint. All JAE hardware and motor mount is bought and has been fitted. Stuffing tube is installed. Servoe mount installed. Sponson booms are included and alum sponson lock down are included. You will still need. To cut the flex cable.
