This is why we all hesitate when someone outside the hobby asks, “how much do you have in that toy boat?”
We never tell them about all the “learning” costs behind the successful setups...

When someone outside the hobby ask much... I tell them plan on $1-2000. Most time it they go silently.

The HUll is fine. I hope the Lehner is OK. I think the Controller gave out. 5 laps full tilt. I think the battery damage is from the controller. Sits on top of the batts. Those Fliers work till they don't. I have run this before so who knows.

Thanks I will. Need to clean it all first.

Think I figure out the scenario.

    Motor wire came off.
    Took out the controller.
Controller blew and dead shorted the batts.

Sorry for your loss there isn't worst thing in this world than go back home with that smell in the car.....had lived this situation many times with my saw boats!.I have no experience with scales but who knows your boat isn't overproped....I have seen amps going to the ruff with smaller props than a X462.Gill

    Awwwwww,.....man.

I filled my hull with baking soda and closed it up for a few days. Helped a lot with the odor.

If you would like to try an alternative ESC -- I can send you one of my spare DLUX 250A's converted to water to test

I've seen them go up to 500-600amps on 12-14s

Any idea how much amps you were pulling when it went into meltdown?
