Futaba Magnum Junior T2PCKA 2-ch

I recently dug out my r/c car equipment hoping to use the TX and RX for the 1/8 hydro I will be building soon.
The TX/RX is the Futaba Magnum Junior T2PCKA 2-ch which came with an AM RX and S2002 servo.
I'm sure the servo won't handle the load of the rudder and will need to beef it up with a bigger servo.
But I was hoping the TX will do and the RX to be replaced with a marine RX.

I won't be running the boat competitively any time soon, just tooling around the H2O until I find a club in my area.
What do you think?

I would test it and make the sure the radio,rx,crystals still work. If they all work, I would a range check.

1/8th scale hydros take a lot of work and $ to build. Are you sure you want to trust that to an old radio? Futaba or not? Can you set a fail safe with it? I recently acquired an older 4 ch FM Futaba radio in a used boat sale. It still functions perfectly but i'm not sure I'd trust it in a new build.
