Default Best motor for this boat.

If I just want to have fun with this boat, is my best motor option stock, the Veles motor, or the impulse motor?

What motor is in the boat now? Does the hull have a square or rounded hatch opening? Depending on where you're at in the parts department, you might get more bang for your buck with another set of batteries for more run time at the lake or a sharpened prop for more speed.

It’s all stock with just a CNC prop and it’s the V3

The 3831 motor from the veles/UL19 is a fun upgrade and it runs cooler than the stock motor, all other variables being equal. Depending on your definition of fun, the stock motor is plenty capable as well and a sharp prop will help with speed and efficiency. If you're new, I'd suggest running what you have, get to know the boat, start to dial it in with a fast, reliable setup, then start considering motor upgrades. Reliability upgrades would be money well spent before a motor, things like an upgraded flex cable, strut bushing, cooling upgrades, etc.
