    Default ML Boats RSX 310

I started this on Tuesday. Kent Seal sold it to me. I didn’t see many people doing builds on it so I thought I would show case mine.

    Very nice, thank you!

I am in the process of building mine. I have sponsons framed up and sanded, one skinned except for top. I'll do the tub last.

I would have started a build thread but I can't upload pictures from this crap tablet. I've tried everything and the only way is slow and painful by posting them on another site first and then using the links.

What power are you planning on running? Did you reinforce the inside of the Sponsons boom tube holders?

I see tape only on one side of the Sponsons decks, how do you keep the inside edge fastened while gluing?

    Again thanks for the pictures!

    Your welcome. Thank you.
I'm going to use one of two motors 1515 2700kv or 1527 2500kv with a water cool castle xlx. I use extra ply of wood on the in side of the sponsons. I had clamps on the other side of the sponsons. There off in the photo because it looked like a porky Pine with all the clamps on it at once.

Lol heck yea. It mite not work but I have a bunch of other motors to try as well. I heat race at my local club, in the p hydro class I use a 4s taipan that's hard to beat. I have a slough of other riggers so I want to try something new on this one and see what happens. I try all kinds of stuff ppl don't try or say it don't work. I like to see for my self. I Usa 2700kv on my other rig so I'm not sure why this 2500kv will not run good.

    She's looking good Moonie.
I like your attitude. Give things a try that are out of the norm. I like to do that from time to time. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't. But at least you won't die wondering.

Very cool. I'll have to try some new things myself. This is my first rigger since N2 and O class rigger were run at the 2005 Nats.

Sorta wish I still had that Little rigger. Ran like the dickens on Nimh.

Now how cool is that. I never had a lil rigger but I think there is one in my future. Ray what hull did you have back in 2005?

It was an Osbourne kit. I think a Matrix Ultra or something?? It was the top end that was out there for kits in my neck of the woods. Wood over foam sponsons.

Don't think they are available anymore.

It was a Blizzard Ultra I think...

Mikes kit is way better and more room.

    Moonie,
Mike is making a 24" version of the RSX310. It's pretty cute.

I'm not sure, I haven't put mine together yet. It's got a similar cowl, so motor size shouldn't be a problem. Maybe I'll just mock it up to see the dimensions. I'll let you guys know.

Really busy, I probably won't to get a good look until the weekend. It's still sealed up in the box it came in.

Even though a flat bottom strut is not required, will it adversely affect the way the boat runs?

I ask because I have one I could use instead of purchasing a new one. I could just round it off in the mini mill.

Are you going to trim your top sponson skins or leave the overhang?

I use a flat bottom strut and round the edges.

I was still thinking about it. I like the way it looks but I contemplate if it would rendered the after sponsons useless.

Yeah, if you have shoes I don't think it's needed. I can fix it up.
