    Default gsx 310 motor?

I built a ML boatworks GSX 310. I will run it in p-limited class. Motor is a OSE 3660 2030kv with a Octurra m445. I am looking for a little more speed. Not sure what other props to try or possibly motors. Any help would be appreciated. The Salty Bastard.jpg

2030 kv,s is a little low if your running on 4s battery power. you can go bigger in the props such as x645 and see how she goes or use a larger higher kv motor such as the T.P. 3650 - 2350 kv or castle -neu 1415 - 2400 kv motor. 2200 kv to 2400 kv is what you want running on 4s.

Thanks for the info. I think I will be getting a higher KV motor.

The above statement is not from a veteran p limited racer. The info is not good. Most guys on p limited oval racing go between 1600-2000 KV. Guys with the 1600 motors run large props. 45- somethings. He high KV freaks and oval do not go together. I’d say IMO. but it’s a fact.

Try a surgically sharpened ABC H-5 & with a "good" AQ2030 you'll get more mph. No need for more KV.

I would try another prop before you go buying motors. I would try M447

It’s for p limited. The motor you have is fine. Be careful with props. The limited motors are limited. Keep working the boat. Does it run well otherwise? I would not go bigger than a an M447.

theres not alot of difference between the 445 and the 447, i am sure the 2000 kv motor could handle 2.83 of pitch as opposed to 2.47 . check motor / esc and battery temps to find the right prop. by the way what is the maximum motor kv with your P- Limited Hydros.?

Try a 642 or m545. Got to make sure you have juice to finish though

The boat runs fine. I may loosen it up a little more. I spoke with a knowledgeable club member and he said I shouldn't run a higher kv motor. Our club restricts motors to 36 x 70 m. No limit on kv. First race is in 2 weeks so I will have a better feel for changes that need made after that. Thanks to every one for the input.

Its not really a full limited class if your allowed that size motor and unlimited motor kv,s . The 3650 - 2350 kv motor would certainly get you on the podium if you wanted a quicker motor. Our restricted class in Australia is 1500 kv motors..

I have a KEPs and have tested with the 3650/2350 and 1415/2400 with a ZIP kits cut down 1450. The ski in front of the prop may allow this size wheel. 1716 works also. I like the 1415 for a 70mm length limit. No confirmed MPH but lap times on a 1/4 mile course in the low 10's. Be careful on a 6 lap 1/3rd course and check heat and batteries at 4 and 5 laps before you race.

OOOPS. My bad I was thinking you had a rigger. Disregard!
