    Default zipkits fe 33

building this kit to run my leopard 4082 1600kv on 6s with a seaking 180. battery is a 5000mah 70c revo 420. video is of my abs rigger or 5 years ago. in everyones opinion will this fe33 run as well as this boat in the video, or should I consider a TP on 4s with higher mah. to make the 6s 5000 mah battery fit, I had to remove battery mount and redo. I heard someone mention that a TP 3650 on 4s might run longer than a 4082 on 6s. if i went to 3650 on 4s with high mah, could i use the 180 esc? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MW9nbYBlsEI

    Cool

Two things influence run time - amp draw and pack capacity. Motor efficiency has a minor influence, but for a given speed a 6S setup will pull only 2/3rds the amps of the 4S setup, and you may not the large format 4082 motor, a 3674, 3685 etc. would probably work. So with the same battery capacity the 6S setup will run much longer...except that the packs will weigh 50% more and take up more space. So for the same weight you can use higher capacity 4S packs and get the same run time as the 6S setup.

If I didn’t have to worry about racing rules, I’d run the 6S setup. It’s easier on the components and for the runtime is about the same cost. Racing rules depend on the class.

I used a TP3650 2200kv and SK160 with 5000mha 50c lipo last season in a keps P rigger. Wasn't super fast but It didn't do bad. End the race with 3.8v or above per cell.

that was 4s, right? what batteries were you using? how does the keps p compare to the jae33? what prop did you use on the 6s leopard? might build another jae 33 for a tp3650. sorry for all the questions, lol.

Yes the keps is 4s P rigger. I used cheap electron pro 5200 50c on both the Jae and keps. The keps is slower to me than a Jae. I used a ABC H7 on the Jae.

urbs00007, are you sure you have a 2200 kv - t.p. 3650 motor ? they don,t seem to make that size. they go from the 1900 odd kv to the 2350 size no 2200 in the middle.

If you want a good 6s rigger I would suggest the ML boatworks 380 rigger kit. It has plenty of room for 2 6s 5000 or even 6000 mah packs. I run a TP 4070 1520 with an ABC 2215 prop and the boat drives like a cadillac. It's close to 80 mph and is so fun to drive. The Jae33 is more of a 4s boat and space will be tight. The ML 380 rigger is 4 1/4" wide and 38" long. It's a big boat with lots of room for everything. One of these days I will get a video of it running. If you go this route I will be glad to help you and show you all the parts I used.

Looks nice Mark, love the fluro orange on natural wood. would be great if we had 6s class rigger racing over here in aussie land.

Yea we have the class here but it doesn't run much if at all. I got this boat as a fun to run on our Sunday get togethers for something fast to have for that need for speed. I have run some riggers over the years but all of them took a lot of tweaking to get them to run right. This boat i set the strut to 1" and flat to the bottom and eye balled the turn fin and the boat ran smooth as can be so this is a very easy boat to build and set up for 6s and even 8s I would say would work too.

I was able to get a 6s 5000 mah compact zippy in my fe33 by thinning the battery tray and raise the back cover about 1/4 inch.

yes a 6s will fit inside the jae-33 tub when the raised battery tray is either reduced in height or removed.

You can get 2 6s 6000 packs in the ML 380 boat with room to spare and no mods needed.

If using a speedmaster style stut , the distance from transon to rear of strut is appox 2 inches. if you have the stock short angle strut mounts you use a small block of wood about 1/2 inch to 3/4 inches thick glued to the transom for a spacer so the strut sticks out the rear to this distance mentioned.

This is a new ML boat works rigger I'm building. One pic shows 2 5s 6000 packs in it although 2 6s 6000 packs will fit too. The other shows 2 4s 5000 and how much room is in this boat for equipment. My Castle esc is on the side next to the motor.

use Velcro and glue in some side rails to hold the battery from moving left / right.
