    Default Prop to Rudder Placement

should the prop be even with the rudder or should the rudder be ahead of the prop.
looking at my impulse 31 the prop is centered with the rudder, with the blackjack 29 v3 the rudder is way behind of the prop.
this starts me to think about thrust cones, it just seems that on the blackjack with the rudder behind of the prop it would interfere with the thrust cone, in turn interfere with speed. What do you think? or am I putting to much into it or did anyone try moving the rudder closer to the prop.

When I first started building fast electrics, one of the first things I read on the forums was that the rudder should be beside the prop. This helps to negate prop steer. I've done it ever since & never had a problem.
I do remember setting up a boat with the rudder in front of the prop & the boat just wouldn't handle fast turns. It would sort of sawtooth through the turns.I made an extension bracket for the rudder & then she carved beautiful turns at full noise.
