    Default Ferrite ring

Upon reviewing several You-tube videos I noted that some had the wires from the receiver to the ESC wrapped several times around a ferrite annular ring. Is this to stop interference?

It forms an inductor and slows the edges of the ripple, especially important with a switch-node BEC. This ring should be located close to the receiver, not the ESC or BEC. I also add a small, electrolytic capacitor to the RCVR using an unused port. The combination of the inductor and capacitor makes a solid filter. The cap also really helps if you're using a high force servo or digital type. These can pull large amounts of current and glitch the RCVR.

These ones a receiver end fitting should fit through the inner diameter

JayCar Electronics and other Electronic stores have these rings also.

I usually remove the ferrite ring. Never noticed a difference. Except that it didn't get in the way with my wire routing anymore.

Many thanks. My son just uses the glitch buster capacitor on the receiver.

Ditto...never an issue without them...just dead weight.
