Wow, a nearly 200mph RC boat! Sounds like it's turning about 50,000 rpm... There's some engineering in that boat!

Wow, I'm in awe of this set up! Copper bus bars, huge switch-mode caps, just beautiful! I'm really being motivated to the next level with this... I'm going to work on a bus bar system.. Thanks for sharing!

Look at picture #3 in post 36.
Looks like a custom made Motor with 4 wires coming out???
Also the copper bus bars on the ESC look like they are gold plated also.

    Hello Larry,

this is a series engine from Lehner (6 wires). The rest is all by Jörg (JAG`S Team). I have a video

of the boot with description. The video ist from 2016.

    Boot: JAG's T Hydro 2015/2016, ca. 125cm lang, ca. 55cm breit, ca. 3.4kg fahrfertig
Motor: LMT 2260/5 HiAmp (mit 8mm Welle und Rotorhülse)
Regler: eigene Leistungsendstufe aus 42 Stk. IRFS7434-7P FETs mit Schulze future 18.xx Controller-Platine
    Akkkus: 8s1p RoaringTop 5100 80C, vorgewärmt auf ca. 45°C
    Kupplung: Zander 8mm/2.5mm
    Propeller: JAG's C2044/3

    greetings

Wow wow wow - Custom ESC with 42 of IRFS7434-7P FETs. That is 14 FETs per phase, 7 high side, 7 low side. Those FETs are rated at something like 220 Amps each, quick napkin math says that like 1.4 killoamps per motor phase. With huge buss bars and a battery preheated to 45C, that boat has all kinds of engineering going on. I am guessing so much ESC overkill is needed since I didn't see any cooling at all; no heatsink, no cooling plates, nothing. Since I have been on a custom ESC kick lately, these specs really stood out to me.

It's very inspirational! I love it when people reach so far out from the norm, re-instates my faith in folks! I built a power conversion circuit that switched about 600a, I thought that was a big deal. But this guy, not only doubles that, but miniaturizes it at the same time... Love the German engineering!

    Hello,

here are some videos from Munich (SAW). Unfortunately, the quality is not very good (old smartphone filmed by a friend).
