Cool stuff. Do a google search for this car. Electric Ariel Atom. Pretty neat. I wish someone would build something like this. How many of us need to travel 100 plus miles a day? If gm built a fully electric car that went 100 miles a day I would jump on if the price was right. These hybrids are crap in my opinion. Way to many things to break or go wrong.

You HAD to ask!! I put 275 miles on my F-150 today running all over the LA Basin to various job sites. I have a site in Chatsworth, which is 107 mile ONE-WAY from my house. I just LOVE going there!!

Heck, I live 48 miles from my home lake at Legg Lake. At its peak it cost me almost 30 bucks in gas just to go run my boats!!

I cannot wait for electric cars, or fuel cell or whatever!! I just need something with some legs!!
    Don't get me started

Nice they are giving people that pre ordered a chance to drive them. Isnt that kind of backwards? Dont we get to test drive before buying?

Electric truck with small gas generator is what you need. Kind of like Chevy Volt is supposed to be. But for 80% of commuters that only drive themselves to the office, 120 miles of range is enough. My ideal car for now would be a small two seater like Toyota Yaris with 50KW peak motor and 25KWh LiFePO4 pack. Acceleration does not have to be 4 seconds, my Honda does 16 seconds to 60 and that's too fast for everyday driving. Keeping the car lightweight is the main idea, no more than 2000 pounds. Second is the price, it has to me as low as possible, no more than $40K. And it has to look like other cars on the road. My biggest issue with electric cars is that there are few that can blend in with other gas cars. Why do there EV designers have to make them stand out and often downright ugly? I like Tesla because these guys have the right idea.
