Maybe mine will get here in a few more days. I was hoping for today... but I got these instead. Not a bad trade off in the mail category after all. Thanks Chris! I will put these to good use! Maybe I should have paid for overnight shipping on the cables like VP did....lol

Got my replacement flex and prop from Horizon (in 2 days!). Thanks for the quick support!

Just posting these pics for informational purposes. Looks like the stock shaft just came loose at the crimp and didn't actually break. Interesting to note that the way the spring is wound around the flex shaft, when the crimp comes loose, the motor will actually "unscrew" the prop shaft piece from the flex. If the outer spring on the flex were wound the opposite direction, the tendency would be for the flex shaft to tighten itself onto the prop shaft, preventing the prop and lower shaft from being ejected into the lake. You'd still lose power, but you could probably limp back to the dock.

That would be a bad idea. If you turned the spring the other way under load, the spring would try to unwind. That would make it get wider, destroy the Teflon liner, next to happen, the copper tube would look like a pretzel.

Got them today. Very stoked about these! I'm glad I had you to throw another one in the box. Very nice shafts! Thanks Travis! Now just if the wind to die down and the Birthday parties to finally get overwith I'll be set! Below are a couple of pictures, one is side by side with the stock Veles shaft.

    Default Veles 29 Hits 73mph!

Another run with the boat today setup different than yesterdays run and it ran numbers that I am more accustomed to getting with my setups. The Dynamite logger clocked the boat at 73mph. It was pretty windy and I wasn't going to run but I decided to go ahead and run with the sailboats anyways Lol. Thanks Chris for another Awesome prop!

I think that was just a couple of props rcboone2000 had in his prop box, so he just tried them. I got a good ABC prop coming from Chris for a 4s run in my boat It should be here by the weekend.

Looks like it's pretty exact. I kept one I made so i can copy it for anyone else who needs one. I may make up a few with the rest of the cable, stubs and drive dogs I have left and put them up for sale.

[QUOTE=MADRCER;701824] Here is a nothing special video of my test and you can clearly see the wind was around 10mph, water not ideal, and I wasn't even trying to run the boat hard.

Water not ideal!!! You should see how the water is around here. Good to hear the Veles is running straight and true. If I ever get mine to run, we will see if yours had a flaw or if that's they way they are.

I went out to the lake quickly this afternoon to see if it was fixed and it's GOOD to go! If anyone was wondering it's way faster pulling a straight rudder versus pulling one cocked to the left...lol! Keep in mind this was only supposed to be a "test run" with speed being irrelevant... but I put the GPS' in the boat anyways for kicks and I threw two Gens Ace batteries on the charger that were in storage mode for about 15 minutes (charged them to 4.05v per cell) just for this test and I still got 69mph and 70mph readings!!! and this wasn't even a speed run, nor were the batteries fully charged, nor were these my best packs! After only 3min and 20 seconds into the run the boat hit low voltage just driving the boat around casually. The boat drives SO much better not having to fight it pulling in the opposite direction and did I mention it's significantly faster...lol! Here is a nothing special video of my test and you can clearly see the wind was around 10mph, water not ideal, and I wasn't even trying to run the boat hard. Both GPS' got 69mph and the logger got 70mph. I'm banking on a GOOD run next time out and I bet Miss Geico will be keeping one eye it as well.....

So why was it pulling to the left?

With the tube/strut being straight and aligned better that alone fixed 80% of the issue, then the servo fixed it 100%
Ok makes sense. I had a crooked stuffing tube on my Zelos which I replaced

Agreed, but the misalignment between the stinger and tube was creating resistance and heat so I replaced it

    Default Veles 29 Hits 75mph (121kmh)!!!!

Ran the boat today and I have to say I believe that I still left some mph on the table... I didn't have the trim knob centered so I had to stop halfway on my first pass to center it then I took off again from the middle of the lake and I only got 75.18mph (121kmh). I had to let out a little early due to the boat getting very close to shallow waters on the other end of the lake. O well I guess there is always the "next run"... By the way I got my goal of 75mph that was set back on 9-8-2017 in post 61 on this thread, so its not all that bad. Thanks to Chris for the awesome prop work! Also thanks to Travis (kfxguy) for stepping up to the plate and helping a fellow out with some Awesome flexshafts! Couldn't have done it with out you two!

Yeah, I know where we discussed. However, the bottom line is that it has been windy here. Doesn't matter where you go, wind is wind. My preferred place can have calm water, IF there is no wind. So, between work and wind it has been difficult to run the boats. It may get a bit easier now that I don't have to worry so much about working around kids in the water, like in the summer.

When I get time to break from 6s testing the Veles I got something for the 4s packs that arrived in the mail.. I hope to be to get high 50's with a good setup and this bad boy! Not to mention Swag is always nice as well...Thanks Chris! I also got my replacement servo yesterday from Horizon and they were nice enough to send me s605 which is way better than the s602 which the Veles comes with for the defective one, so they're still on top of their game as well! I made up a jumper wire to run a single 4s pack, if I can get it stuffed in. I don't like to run these jumpers but I want 4s speed numbers without having to buy new 2s packs that I hardly ever use.

If you look at Marks Fast list, you will see I finally got this boat to make a few laps. It was running bow high and a bit too unstable. I was not able to stick the throttle. After a couple of laps like that, I was thinking to bring it in to make some adjustments. I slowed to start a left turn back to me, when mid way through the turn, it hooked right, then barrel rolled several times. On recovery, I noticed that the steering servo gears stripped out. Not sure whether the gears stripped out on the turn, causing the unusual right hook, or if the barrel rolls broke the servo. In either case, I was done for the day. Ordered an upgraded servo from Horizon. At least I finally got a few laps in with this boat.

Thanks VP! My Revo packs might grab another mph or two but they might not either because the SMC'S Really shined with this 4s setup, but 59-60mph would be some real good numbers on 4s for a stock boat. I'm really liking the SMC packs. The resistance is 0 and 1 in both packs. Also, I want to give you a big THANKS for the strut adjusting gauge as well! It will work great with the Veles. It's always nice for something to show up unexpected! Thanks bud!

No problem. Takes a bit of milling to knock that 1/2" block down to .75 mm but if I attempt to mill it from 1/4" the end held in the milling vise tends to flop around. I told you I liked these SMC packs. Cant beat the price either.
