Good morning guys. I have a Traxxas blast that i bought for my daughter. We took it out to run with my M41 and my upgraded Villain and she was extremely disappointed (she's 6 years old too lol)

Anyway, i tossed a goolrc motor/esc i had laying around in it. these are really inexpensive and i figured i'd see how it held up. i know the ESC doesn't have any water cooling but i figured what the heck.

Anyway, one look at the stock plastic coupler to the driveshaft was enough to be able to tell it's never going to last. once it goes i'll toss the 2000kv gool motor i have sitting here in it. But that has a 5mm shaft size...

I'm trying to find the size of that shaft. i measured it but i wanted to get confirmation from someone that knows. I was looking at something like this:

or if i wanted to keep the smaller higher kv motor this:

i was just looking for feedback from anyone that's built a blast. I know they're not anything special. i have 2 hobbyking brushless boats on order as well. we just run them off the dock and are planning on tossing some buoys out and having some fun. dads and the kiddos. nothing serious.

the blast and villain actually handle the seaweed better than the boats with the rudders. So they have their place in the fleet.

anyway, any feedback on that shaft size would be greatly appreciated.
