    Default Sexy Lady By Amati

I have a new project that a friend brought by yesterday. Sexy Lady By Amati. I never have liked the Outboards on a mono so I suggested a TFL P1 Drive System with 2960 Motor to the owner. He liked it and now I have to figure out how to do it.

Funny thing my father in law is a master tall ship model builder. He has built the lady nelson by amati. That's why I picked up on that. He's 81 now and still builds, his boats beautiful. I have bluenose schooner he built for me (big canadian Icon ) at my house.

I got a little more done on the boat now that I have the I/O I had to make a wedge to fit the I/O base to the transom. The transom has quite a angle to it and the prop would be a a funny angle if I did not make this for it. Also the well for the Outboard got in the way so I had to cut it out and will build a hatch to be able to service the unit.

I put the steering boots in side the boat to keep the outside clean looking.

Too bad TFL did not put in a water pick up in the I/O.

That I/O motor is making me drool. What do you think of it? I have a NIB old stock unbuilt graupner b24 (the scale firberglass hull one)that I have been sitting on for years. I've been tossing around the idea of one of those drives instead going with an inline offshore strudder rudder. The I/o motor would be what the b24 ran (except for the inline counter rotating props). I imagine it would not be that fast dues to friction losses etc??
    Thoughts?

First off I thought the unit was a little small. But on the boat it looks correct. The motor is small too but we are not going for speed here either. Not sure how the gears will fair out, Hopefully some one with some experience will chime in.

Beautiful boat! Is that single battery on one side going to give you a weight shift! Maybe in final trim, run a pack on each side...

    Nice build :O)
    The TFL outdrive is beautiful.
I'm building the same boat, but with 2 TFL outboards. Because of the added weight, I glued a 2 inch kevlar band to the inside of the hull where the molds where glued together. I don't think it's really necessary, but just in case.

I spent 5 hours gluing yesterday so I am getting close to the finish of this project.

Hatch in back is all that is left to build and finish.

Just trying to do it justice. thanks

I need to find a good clamping system for the windshield. While trying to pull the front seats out the glue on the windshield came loose. I just do not want to end up with a lot of glue build up.
