Default Radtek 45 twin TP 4060 1950 kv

Hey guys, I need some help here. I just ordered a carbon fiber radtek 45 mystic, kbb struts, rudder etc. I also bought TP 4060 1950kv motors. I do not know where to start on props.

I am probably going to get yelled at for this butyrr I'm using the raider 150 esc's, which I know is pushing it. But I have witnessed one of these raiders take more punishment than an SK 180. Any thoughts on where I should start on props. I was thinking CNC 446 or CNC detounged 646,....

I had a DFE 37 before with Leo 4092's and ran up to 48mm 3 blades or 650 two blades but with the bigger hull I am not sure. I will say this boat shought be light for its size as my DFE was a pig: reinforced and had 6 water pickups (don't ask).

Honestly. If I had that boat.... CNC props would never touch it. Try some abc props 18 to 20 range.. My opinion you have the ultimate cat. 240-300amp ESCs are in order as well. Lets be honest, you dont put a Kraco stereo in a Lambo. In the end though its not mine.

Which abc's would you recommend for now. 18's I assume but what pitch/rake? I wish I had an alternative to Swordfish or ETTI esc's. I just hear of so many problems with them.

I should also ask why you don't like the CNC props. I got the most out of those vs any Octura or abc I tried (although I only tried two abc's)

Ive never run that hull. Its my dream boat. Id guess and if it where mine, start with the abc 1915-17-45. KBB sells worked props. Anyone else have better info?

All the cnc props Ive had and seen are too thin. Seen them bent and even broken off the hub. They are good to use to get a ballpark on what size to run but 30,000+rpm behind a $2500-$4000 boat, no thanks.

I like them because they are close to perfectly balanced and seem to hold up (with the exception of 50mm plus). They do get damaged easily if you come into contact with anything. I see your point though.

If it's your dream boat, why not order one!!! Then pick out some graphics from MHZ. I bought the JBS Racing ones and I just got them in today. Can't wait to put this boat together.

    Hi,
I have the same hull it's fantastic. I started out with abc 1915-17-45 props and they worked great. I'm currently running 2015-17-45 and it likes it even better.

    My setup:
    Neu 1530's-around 1600kv
    Swordfish 240 esc's
    8s revo's to each motor
Boat has a great ride attitude and is very stable with the 2015's.

That's what I can say is working well for me.
    Best of luck with yours!

What voltage? I agree about the CNC props. I have a few but they're simply for testing a new setup. I wouldn't put them on a high end boat like that. I know someone that had cnc 445s on a 36 zelos and it threw a blade off of one. OSE raider's seem like they'll be a little small. I have a 4060 1720kv and it blew the heatsink off a T180 on 6s with an m445, although it is a single setup.

I ran a raider on a single set up in a DFE 37 too and it made it about 5 or 6 runs. But I think we'll all agree a twin set up pulls almost half the amps. However I do realize 45" is a whole different set up.

I planned to run Revo 5s 70c for just sport running. 6s when I wanna go fast. Maybe I just need to get over the fact that I am going to have to get a SF240.

As for the prop issue I have 46" 1.6 pitch CNC's to run until I can grab some ABC's. I think I am maxed out at 1815-17's for now till I upgrade esc's. Hopefully that's enough prop to move this boat.

I went ahead and bought two SF240's. You guys are right. Those raiders are just not enough.

I built it with a goal of 100mph.
I'm currently at 98. It's getting a little faster each time out.
A bit more tuning and it will get there.

That's my goal. 100 mph. But if you're just shy of it on 8s mine will probably not get close on 6S. Although my motor is going to run similar Rpms

Did you consider 1816s? A hair less diameter and about the same pitch might get you there?

Old thread I know but I have a very similar boat and am researching setups.

I tried everything with the OSE Raiders. Couple runs and they would be toast. Same thing on SK180’s Even when down to detounged 642’s. Then the boat topped out at only 65mph. Tried SF 240’s and had reliability issues.

Got so frustrated I finally went all in on MGM 280-63’s. Spent 1500 bucks and it was worth every penny. I’m running 1917’s now at 80 degrees eleven in the summer and doing 90mph on 7s. Have room to prop up or go to 8s and I couldn’t be happier with the boat. Thing is a rocket ship!
