    Default aeromarine conquest

just bought an aeromarine avenger 36. the zelos 48 ended up being too big for me to handle physically. want to build this conquest a twin. I have (4) 5s 5000 batteries and would like to be able to use them whether its 5000 or 10,000 mah setups. i have 2 leopard 4082 1600kv with seaking 180's. i have 2 neu 1527 2300kv with castle 240's. which would be the better choice for a fun, reliable boat?

i say the leopard / seaking set up if your just wanting a fun boat. your neu set up is a good race set up.

more run time with the leopards? and would 10,000 mah be too much for this boat? if so, i will have 2 packs to switch off to for more uninterupted running. thanks.

    Cool

You would get more run time with the Leopards, those are both 4S setups but the high-Kv Neus will draw plenty of amps and may challenge the SK-180s. If you ran a single 4S2P setup supplying both motors the weight will be fine. If you want 4S2P to each motor, that is pretty heavy. The boat will handle it, but performance will be downgraded somewhat. A club member ran that hull on 10S2P/4000 packs and it was okay. It will be more difficult to blow over.

hi fluid. i was hoping to run the hull on 5s2p to both motors. 2 neus or 2 leopards. will this work? the neu's are hooked up to castle 240's with cap banks. if i was to run them. i already have (4) revos 5s packs. 5000 mah. thanks fluid

you don,t really have to use 2 x motors for this hull, 1 neu motor would push this hull around quite well. if you want to go twin motors i would just use the leopards for a fun boat but if your going to race it use the twin neu,s. not a cheap boat using 2 x neu,s and 2 x 240 amp castle esc,s i must say.

This is the same hull that I race.
    The 2 Leopard 4082 1600kv with Seaking 180's. is a good 5S setup.
    The 2 Neu 1527 2300kv with castle 240's. is a 4S setup

There is No need to put 4- 5S-5000 packs in that hull (too much battery weight)
Two 5S packs, wire your ESC together so that each motor sees the 5S2P.

Wiring diagram for two ESC's - so that each motor sees your 2P setup.

You also put a plug in-between the ESC's on the black wire. This is done so you can disconnect the 2 ESC's from each other when you make any changes to the programing.

BEC - Disconnect the BEC from one of the ESC's, or both and use a U-BEC

The batteries go under the pool noddle down in the sponson.
CG - is 12 1/4" from the rear of the hull.

    Only one Receiver is required.

thanks for your help. so the way the esc's are wired, they get 5s 10,000 mah? if so, thats great. also, are the batteries strapped in. if so, are the pool noodles just added restraint? one more if you dont mind. are you running conventional struts?

    Both ESC's see 5S - 10,000
Batteries are held in with Velcro , the pool noodle helps hold it in place.

    Props - ABC 1815 -17-45/2 Left and Right - get them from Dasboata B + S
Left and Right Cables - Reverse collet is NOT needed

    John

You will need a big rudder also
The stand off on mine is 5 1/2" to the front of the blade.
    Blade is 6'' long
I also use duel servos for the rudder - they can be seen in post #11

You will also need a piece of plate (carbon fiber, Aluminum, or something else) to put below the lip on the hull to give you a flat area to mount the rudder.

thanks larry. will order those props right away. one thing different i will do ( need to reduce spending) I'm going to use speedmaster struts I already had. I will use teflon in shaft tube and remove brass where the tube goes thru transom to allow for a little adjustment. thanks again , larry.
