    Mini KEP's Rigger

I am about to start building a KEP'S mini rigger.
It's similar to the jae mini for the most part.
I currently offer these kits for sale and figure I should probably build one and have some fun with it!
I will post some photos and stuff up along the way.

Check out this link for more info.
Freebie drawing of a KEP's FE-2S Mini LiPo Brushless Outrigger "Fun" Electric Hydroplane. Note this is a very small outrigger FE hyd...

If your interested in purchasing a kit then shoot me a pm let's keep that stuff out of this thread.

Here are some photos of the parts and comparison of the sponsons to 21 size and 45 size.

You know, we could probably run these at the old casting pond. That would be a good place to play with some mini/micro FE stuff.

There is a guy with a Mini KEPs racing at my club, and built light it is competitive in the Mini Hydro class, especially so in the rough. He scaled it down from the T2 plans before the mini plan was released, so there may be some small differences to the plan, but the size and shape are very similar. It looks like the materials were different though as he used carved balsa for the sponsons and laminated balsa-1/64 ply for the tub to keep the weight down. I think he got his in at 480g, surprisingly close to the 465g of my molded kevlar boat. <500g RTR is a good weight for a Mini Hydro, the minimum is 450g but I don't think that is achievable while using the full 450mm allowed hull length. My old Zippkits JAE mini was an overbuilt pig that came in at 620g, and while I have had some success with it, it isn't competitive with good modern hulls built with the supplied materials, though the plan can still be if built light.

            Jeff,
What are you supplying with the Mini Keps, and how much will it cost? By the way, I completely forgot about the windshield for the ML RSX310. I'll get the pattern to you soon.
            Regards,
            Bob

Had my mini keps out today for the first run. It's a fast little rigger with nothing but potential. Too bad I broke the motor shaft and lost the prop but another is on the way. Video will come soon.

Contact Monojeff, I believe he is making laser cut kits of most of the Kep's boats.
