Got my mono done got a good run in last weekend first long run on this boat had a couple issues.
set up is: twin tp4060 1050kv sf 200 esc's 6s single packs for now octura 450/3 prop's.
first thing when i hit throttle one motor starts before the other.
second rudder i think was to small woulden't turn. made a bigger rudder and installed a stronger servo.
top speed was around 40 mph only pulled 36 amps max per side. got up on plane good just not to fast at top end.Bigger prop's maybe like 65's or so and
recheck amps. any suggestions.
timing on esc's is set on auto motor's are 5y do i need to change that setting?
Timing on auto is fine. I would not be expecting too much speed out of 6s with that KV. That would be 8s for a nice safe start point.
So before going to suggesting bigger props, how big is this hull?
I would run up to 10s on that setup. But being a mono it may not be to happy at that speed. I think 8s is good. How are you coming up with 36amps BTW?
Oh and I was going to mention my twin mono motors spun unevenly until I hooked both packs together then into the ESC's. I just used a shunt wire for this.
You want both ESC's to see the 2P setup.
The best way to do this is connect the two red (+ inputs on the ESC's) together.
Also connect the two Black (- inputs on the ESC's) together using a plug in the shunt wire.
This plug is used when you want to program the ESC's, they must be disconnected from each other, and programed individually.
As you can see in the picture, I soldered my two red ESC plugs together.
You can also see the plug in the black shunt wire.
This setup will leave you two Red plug and two black plugs to connect your batteries to.
Your ESC's will now see the 2P setup.
