    Default 4s vs 2 2s packs

Are there any advantages or disadvantages to running 2 2s packs in series vs one 4s pack?

Depends on many factors. 2 2S packs can give you better weight distribution depending on the hull. They can also increase heat and decrease peak current output by adding more connections and resistance to the electrical circuit. What's your application?

Unless you're trying to use packs that you already own, a single 4S pack with only enough capacity for your intended runtime and electrical draw would be the most simple and compact solution.
