More work trying to dial in the Chopper tonight, I've been fighting a bow bounce the last few runs, so today I moved the batteries a little bit further forward, and adjusted my inner trim tabs down a smidge. It seems pretty well settled in the turns which I like. Loaded RPM seems to hover around 26k and amp average about 100 when I look closely at the data logs. Might be time to prop up, or even try 5s?

Finally some consistent logging has revealed logical results. I have been running a Graupner 442 - 2 blade prop as my baseline the past 6 runs, so I have some nice consistent data. I have been watching average amps and rpm curves. Tonight I jumped up to the Graupner 445 - 2 blade and saw some interesting changes (but expected)

442 = average amp draw: 100 amps, average rpms: 26,000
445 = average amp draw: 120 amps, average rpms: 24,500

Motor and esc temps were also up slightly, but the past 6 runs were averaging 60 degree ambient outside air temp and today it was 80 when I ran. Batteries were a little warmer at 115 degrees due to the system working harder (but still very manageable) for 2:45 run at WOT.

Was toying a little more with the graphs and when I plot the RPM, Watts, Amps and voltage it's pretty neat to see:

On the left (442 prop) the RPMs (Green) hover around 26,000 rpms and the amp draw/watts output (Maroon/Orange) are lower.

On the right side (445 prop) the RPMs hover around 24,500 and the amp draw/watts output are higher above the RPM line.

Makes sense that the load of the larger prop drops the RPMs and increases the motor duty.

I located them ontop of the hatch, drilled the hole in the hatch, then marked the main hull with a pin. Be careful, the fiberglass can chip easily, don't use a bit that will bite quick.

I recall that I had ordered a red hull and he convinced me to take a stock hull he had available. Mine is currently for sale if interested.
