I've run both the Leopard 5692 and the Neu 1527. Both have been solid motors for me in Q classes.

What did you run a 5692 in? That motor will power a gas size boat.

    Mark,
The motors I listed are both for a 39" hull. What size hull are you looking at putting an electric motor in? Most gas hulls are larger and would require a different motor. I'm currently building a 44" "gas mono hull" and will be installing the Leopard 56110 835 kv motor.

Mark, if it's the boat we talked about just put the 1527/1y in there and be done with it. That's the goto motor for Q sport.

I am trying to get the racers to run the Offshore Class for 4 minutes in my district. We have been running heat racing oval 6 laps. Some of the guys proped down but still are killing batteries. What are some of the setup that were ran? I am trying to help some of the Nitro guys not burn up anything.

Yes I agree, thats what I have in my Q sport and mine is a Whip which is quite a bit heavier than a Phil Thomas hull. The 1527 is pretty much the go to motor for Q in my opinion. If you're looking for a bit more power the 1530/1.5D I believe is 1350 KV and can pull a couple hundred more watts. I tried it in my boat but I can only fit 6000mah in my hull and my cells got very hot. I went back to the 1527.

Hey Randy, for Limited offshore the 1500 motor (forgive me I don't even know the manufacturer) with a 450/2 prop is a good combo, thats what my daughter ran all weekend long in P-lim mono p-lim offshore and P-mono. She ran 2 4s 4000's, a lot of guys run 3700's too. If you're looking for full out P-Offshore I run a 1521/1.5D and I use a 445 /2 prop, and I use 2 4s 5000's, this is a pretty hot setup and will use a lot of the battery. You could also go w a 1515/1Y with the same prop and that would be a little easier on the batteries.

Not every boat is equal obviously but that 1527/1y in a Thomas still holds the Q sport 2 lap record. That motor works in everything. Want more? Add prop. It can take it. Works in everything Q tht you can dream up too. Mono, cat, sport. Little light on kv for rigger maybe.

The limited info will help for some, But It is the open that I need the info for. I am really worried for them. Do you have any Leopard or TP motor setups?

Ask Doby, he has decent cool Leopard setups. I think he uses 8000Mah brick packs from HK, Leo 4082 or 4092- 2000kv. Simple esc like a T180 and he will have to tell you props. His setups are quite reliable and fairly competitive. He finishes heats!!

Randy, if it were myself and I was lookin for a TP setup, the TP I would look at is the 3650/3Y (2060kv) that looks comperable to the Neu 1521, you could also use it in straight up P-mono too. I would try it and prop it with a M445 (a little less blade than the X445). It will prob be a little more efficient than the Neu 1521 B/C its a Y wind and not a D wind. Anyone think or know and different let him know.

Upon looking at the Leopards the 4082X2 motor with the 1600kv looks interesting, as we are going pretty fast with the limited 1500kv motor I would try this motor with a 450/2 or a 452/2 prop. This actually seems pretty enticing as I've been Thinking about a change for my P-Offshore setup. I have a Neu 1521/1Y that is 1577Kv I think I'm going to try that!!!!

Is the old Pro Boat Water Cooled RC Brushless Marine Motor PRB 3310 A3630 - 1500 KV the same as the new Dynamite DYNM3835 A3630-1500Kv 6-pole Water-Cooled Marine / Boat Brushless Motor ?

Typically 36mm motors are more efficient than 40mm motors. Many use the same diameter rotor for the 36mm as what goes into a 40mm. Yes Y winds like 1Y's are easier on esc's.

Dunno but I'm sticking with the DYNM3835 http://www.ebay.com/itm/191717747608...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

$54US and Ray Presnell seems to make them sing.

If you had a perfectly fine Neu 1521 1.5D and the motor you mentioned, which would you choose over the other? I have two 1521's bought used on swap shop a couple years ago and they run awesome. P mono and offshore, just change prop.

You would think the Neu would be better wound.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I guess the TP 5650 motor looks good to me because it's 1/2 the price of the Neu and it's a 6 pole and a little over 100gr heavier so should have more power for more aggressive or bigger prop.
Can the Neu swing a 455 prop?

I've swung a 457/3 pitched up on my sprintcat with no problems. Also ran a prather 250 on my Q-Sport whip with that motor. The should have no problem swinging that wheel.

Are you going to the race in Needles? I signed up my T mono. For those of you that saw my T mono at WW the flier 12s 320 amp esc that I tried burned up after 4 laps. The second one I have, they sent me 2, is working fine. I know some of you were interested in the new flier esc and the first one that burned up I think was a fluke. We'll see how the second one holds up though.
