    Default My SV 58.4mph GPS

I just got a gps yesterday did some testing and i can say the batteries make all the difference in the world. Last night first pass with my 440prop and my 16c lipos 4s1p I went 43mph then went 41mph. then i put in my 25c lipos 4s1p and went 52.5 backed that up and went 51.2 then i put back in the 16c and went 42mph. no changes to the boat but the lipos all runs where just up and down passes like a s.a.w. run. Today i put in my 442 first pass 55mph. on the 25c lipos. charged them back up and put the 445 in and it went 58.4mph taped the sv back up put it in the water and went 58.1mph. I will say that all conditions were on glass and i would not run the 445 prop for anything but a up and down run.
if i get out on sat i will get some video.

    Question

Not sure from the pictures, but did you solder 10 gauge wire to the lipos ?

looking good, but push the lipos a lil forward and it won't flip as often check out my video http://s216.photobucket.com/albums/c...mpeg2video.flv using the BJ Motor.

Thats how the lipos come. they seem to be a hair biger than 10 gauge. I do have 5.5mm bullets on all connections.

RCprince i am still playing with that they are ok where they are at on glass but even a ripple and it sketchy.

    Cool

You will be able to go faster - and on rougher water - if you add 6-8 ounces of lead ballast at the CG.

    Thanks for mentioning that.

It seems like a lot of people are against "dead" weight, even though it will help the boat along in certain instances.

+1 on the weights,if you get it right the sv turns much more sharper without prop walk. i use 4 ounces plus the receiver batt pack. My set up is using lipo batts that only vary in weight by a few ounces and im not sure when running nimh batts. Thanks again Fluid

Remember he already has 5.55 oz (I weighed my Garmin with batteries) of extra weight in front of his motor.
I'd think you only need to add more weight if the hull 'takes off' of the water.
If it doesnt you'd rather take away weight to go faster right ? (less hull in the water)
Or am I missing something here ?

Seeing as how the hull was designed to run on "regular" cells, you should add back the weight that you dropped by using lipos. Using this weight, you should mess around with the cg and set the strut and tabs to neutral.

Got out to the lake today. Finally got to try out my new lipo's and Holly cow it's got more power

60.8mph Man it was a exciting run. I was very happy to see it break 60. I had a earlier run at 59.3 so i was hoping to hit 60. The boat is more unstable with the extra power i flipped it twice today and had to lift many more times. I have the batteries moved up a little more but now it seems to have a side to side rock. and if you don't lift in time, it will flip and spin around like a chopper blade. I will now start to add some weight at the CG to get it back stable again. I think it has a few more ticks in it

Jesus crispies, look at the wire hanging off those batteries. You could wire a small hotel with that stuff!!! Fantastic job on the top speed.
