Default Voracity E 36 8s what are my options???

    Hello guys,

New to the forum but not new to RC i love anything RC and over powering things that are RC LOL. so took the Voracity out on 6s and it was awesome fun all stock set up from factory but i have lots of 4s lipos and want to use them in the boat as an 8s setup so i dont have to buy more lipos.

What are my options on going 8s i know i need a new speed controler ( can you please recommend me some)
will the stock motor hold out on 8s?? or will i need a new motor? ( again please recommend)
    also what prop.

sorry for the questions i just want to buy it right the first time.

    many thanks guys

As your aware you need to replace the esc to run 8s, you will also need to replace the motor with a lower kv to run 8s. The stock motor is 1650kv that will give just under 49000 rpm unloaded which is way to high. For 8s you need to look towards 1000 kv-1100kv.

I am very new to FE Boats
why doesn't a 1650kv spinning the prop faster on 8s work?

You not exceed 35 000 rpm in FE or the system eat too much amps ! A 1650 kv on 8s get 48 840 rpm , too much !

So how do you go faster with essentially the same RPM on 8s
    Larger props?

Yop , the lower the kv of the motor , you get more torque so you came get larger prop or more pitch , NOT TOO MUCH , but you check the temp .

i don't recommend what your trying to do. This boat will go plenty fast enough on 6s. I'd just buy the correct batteries. 8s is going to end up sinking your boat.

Btw. I have a 37" boat that runs 100mph with 1640kv and 8s. You might want to reconsider

What motors or motor are you running 100 with in the 37 inch boat?

Good advice from a guy that spends a lot of time making boats go faster than they were designed to.

Thx. I'm only telling him this because I destroyed mine at less than 60mph. These hulls weren't made strong enough to go faster than 60 and take a hard hit. I say this from experience.

    I also have a 1650kv on 8s
    I'm getting 74mph at 74% throttle / 240 max amp readings...
    And its a Voracity
    Lol
Dream big and reinforce your hulls if you run this hull.
It dont want to go much above 70 with out airing out and wants to fly.

I have only been dialing this setup in for one short season.
Tried a leopard motor 1750kv with a 180amp and that didnt make huge gains so, sold that off and called Chrise Fine and he recommend a Tp 4060

I have a few props but, like my 646 ss from doctor props.
Upgraded the stinger as well, I believe the stock one was flexxing under the load of this set up and snapping drive shafts.
Hope this helps anyone thinking of hopping up their rtr

I say just be happy with the voracity for what it is and is designed to do. If you want to go fast with a mono, this is definitely the wrong hull to do that with. A pursuit would be a better choice. Even a revolt. But I don’t recommend going fast without the proper reinforcements.

I am Super Super pleased with going 74mph
    Seems fast to me
And boat likes it up to 70 so, thats plenty for any 36 inch mono in my humble opinion
